Almost There: Northern Virginia On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 1-0 Win
|
In a pivotal Game , the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids were hoping for a big game from starter Guldemunde Geilinger. They got one.
The right-hander shut out the Echo Park Lakers, proving to be the difference-maker as he led his club to a 1-0 victory. The Rainbow Mermaids took the 1-0 win over the Echo Park Lakers to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.
The Lakers had trouble solving Geilinger, who surrendered no earned runs on 4 hits over 8.2 innings.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Geilinger told the Northern Virginia Gazette.
