Thrice as Nice: Panama City Seizes - Advantage With Late Win
|
The Panama City Piranhas took the first game of the Round 1 in dramatic fashion today, topping the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC 4-3 in an extra-inning walk-off win. Piranhas left-hander Edison Larson was selected player of the game, as he threw 7 innings allowing 2 runs.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 17th inning, when Panama City designated hitter Tommy Jones, facing Bill Lee, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Piranhas the 4-3 win.
"It was a good effort all around," said Larson.
