Still Kicking: Portland Cut Thunder Bay Series Lead to - With Late Win
The Portland Evergreens are now one game away from a sweep of the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC after a dramatic walk-off win in the 17th inning at Evergreen Park today. Evergreens right-hander Pedro Aguilar was named player of the game in the 3-2 victory for a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Portland holds a - advantage in the best-of- Silver League Championship.

Portland won the game in the bottom of the 17th inning. With no outs and Norberto Quintana on the mound for Thunder Bay, center fielder Chris Payling hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Evergreens fans to their feet.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Thunder Bay manager Scott Williams. "But we decided not to take it."
