The Greenville 84s have a critical edge over the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids in the Third League Championship, thanks to the veteran arm of Adrián Fierro.
Fierro, 35, put on a dominant performance at 84s Field today, leading the 84s to victory, 2-1, in a pivotal Game . Greenville is now one game away from the Menard's Third League Championship, leading the best-of- series by a margin of - . Northern Virginia will need to win both remaining games to advance.
The Rainbow Mermaids had trouble solving Fierro, who surrendered no earned runs on 6 hits over 7.1 innings.
