Almost There: Boston On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 6-4 Win

A strong performance from pitcher Alexis Zambaco was not enough for the Houston 1837 BBC, who were stopped by the visiting Boston Patriots in a 6-4 loss in Game of the Round 1 today. The Patriots never truly figured out the left-handed Zambaco, who threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball to earn player of the game honors. Still, the Patriots now hold a - in the best-of- series.
Had Omer Yurtseven not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Yurtseven hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Patriots.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Yurtseven told the Boston News.
