The Richardson City Thundercats topped the Atlanta Smoke by the score of 5-4, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Eduardo Álvarez. Álvarez went 1-2 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Thundercats. Jesús Gonzáles, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed 4 runs on 9 hits in 7 innings. Andrés Martínez picked up the save for Richardson City, his 2nd of the year.
Yun Yen went 1 for 3 for Richardson City. The 28-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Manny Amici. It was his 4th RBI of the season.
"This was a good win," said Álvarez.
The Smoke fall to 6-8 and continue their lackluster start in 2030.
