With center fielder Quentin Harrop leading the charge, the Gwinnett County Black Cats defeated the South Beach Blaze, 8-4, at The Ballpark on the Beach. Harrop, who is tied for 10th in the PA in total bases with 134, went 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Orinosuke Hayakawa, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities. The Black Cats now have a mark of 51-39.

It could have been a different outcome for Gwinnett County, had it not been for Willard Thexton, the 22-year old center fielder . Thexton contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the sixth inning to put Gwinnett County up, 4-3.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Harrop said.
