Herons Jolt Dragonblood with Late Rally

Surrealiste Zhejna pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Yellowknife Dragonblood, despite Zhejna's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Hammond Herons at The Heron Refuge. Bob Christison picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-5. Surrealiste Zhejna was tagged with the loss. Hammond currently is in last place in the Premier A at 22-65.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Hammond shortstop Tonito Lamoste, facing Shusaku Kobayashi, had a run-scoring ground out. It gave the Herons the 2-1 win.
"This wasn't a good win," said Lamoste. "It was a great win."
