Victory Pushes Black Cats Record to 48-36
|
The Gwinnett County Black Cats got a strong performance from pitcher Roy Bell, who stymied the Idaho Falls offense en route to a 3-2 win at Pipers Ballpark. David Ortega got the save, his 7th in 7 chances. The Black Cats bumped their record to 48-36 with this latest triumph.
It could have been a different outcome for Gwinnett County, had it not been for Bill Wilson, the 19-year old shortstop . Wilson contributed a 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to put Gwinnett County up, 3-1.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Wilson said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
