Morningstar Helps Idaho Falls Cruise to 15-3 Win
|
The Idaho Falls Chukars easily defeated the Chicago Tula, 15-3, at Idaho Falls Park, with designated hitter Jared Morningstar a main contributor to the win. He went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for Idaho Falls. Chin-seok Hwang closed the game out for Idaho Falls, earning his 2nd save. Idaho Falls now sits at 41-39, while Chicago falls to 36-44.
Tied up with the Tula in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Chukars got a boost from right fielder Luo-lang Li. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Li saw a first pitch fastball from Andrew Prieto and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Idaho Falls on top, 5-3.
Morningstar told the Idaho Falls Daily: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
