Tula Cut Down Chukars, 10-5

The Chicago Tula stopped the Idaho Falls Chukars, 10-5, at Idaho Falls Park. The Tula got a big game from Jim MacRach, who went 1-2 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Jack Salt got the win, improving to 5-5. He held the Chukars to 1 earned run on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 1 and walking 3. The Tula now have a mark of 36-43.
MacRach contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Chicago in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, MacRach took a cutter from Tony Smehrik and stroked the double to left-center. His 13th double of the season allowed the Tula to leap in front, 3-1.
"It was our day today," MacRach told the Chicago Herald. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
