Despite a great performance by Yellowknife right fielder Víctor Cuevas, the Chicago Tula defeated the Dragonblood by the score of 6-3 at The Dragon Den. Cuevas went 3-3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 times. Chicago reliever Jason Todd picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Surrealiste Zhejna absorbed the loss. Earning his 15th save for Chicago was Cedric Zuercher.
Had Jim MacRach not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, MacRach hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Tula.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Chicago manager Coy Knight.
Chicago is now 34-41.
