Yellowknife played host to Chicago at the friendly confines of The Dragon Den.
The Yellowknife Dragonblood topped the Chicago Tula, 9-7, in USPL Single A action at The Dragon Den. The player of the game was Yellowknife pitcher and Higüey, Dominican Republic native Tony Torres. Torres got the win, improving to 4-3. He allowed 3 hits and walked 0 over 6 innings. Torres allowed 1 earned run.
Also making an impact was right fielder Víctor Cuevas, who drilled a bases-clearing triple in the bottom of the fifth inning for the Dragonblood. For the game, Cuevas was 1 for 4 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We came out aggressive," said Dragonblood manager Dan Joseph. "We came out swinging the bats."
Chicago has now lost 5 straight.
