Chukars Edge Past Walleye, 1-0
|
Walla Walla got a terrific performance from pitcher Quan Shiu, but it wasn't enough to beat the Idaho Falls Chukars. Idaho Falls won the Walleye Tank contest, 1-0. Shiu was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He came in in relief and pitched to 23 batters . Idaho Falls reliever Juan Rúbio was the winner. His record is now 1-0. José Marín took the loss. Idaho Falls bumps their record to 30-29 with the win.
This game went down to the wire. In the top of the 15th, Fytor Ceia had a big at-bat. With one out, the Idaho Falls third baseman drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to put his team up, 1-0.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Idaho Falls manager Jorge Díaz.
