River Rats Subdue Hammond, 3-1
|
Kanakanui Lokomaikainani pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Hammond Herons, despite Lokomaikainani's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the Columbia River Rats at Columbia Stadium. The save was Jorge Carranza's, his 4th. Columbia occupies 4th place in the Premier A at 29-24.
The River Rats got a big at-bat from center fielder Landon Harryman. For the game, Harryman was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Columbia a 3-1 lead.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Harryman.
