River Rats Get One-Run Win at Idaho Falls
|
Idaho Falls Park was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Columbia River Rats and the Idaho Falls Chukars.
The Idaho Falls Chukars got a sterling performance from pitcher Albert Sierra, but the River Rats still prevailed, 4-3. Sierra was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball. Naozane Nakamura, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. Raúl Valdéz recorded his 3rd save for Columbia.
Had Landon Harryman not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Harryman hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the River Rats.
"I like our moxie," said River Rats manager .
Columbia is now 28-23, while Idaho Falls is 26-25.
