Washington Makes It 6 Straight with 4-3 Win
|
Washington right-hander Jeff Rollins made an effective start against the Gwinnett County Black Cats at Washington Park, leading his team to a 4-3 win. Washington reliever Ramón Cortéz was credited with the win, to go to 3-1. Xue-liang Li took the loss for Gwinnett County. Washington has run its win streak to 6 in a row.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Washington trailing 3-1, Josh Mawdesley hit a fastball from Xue-liang Li to center for a bases-clearing double. Just like that, the Generals had a walk-off win.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Mawdesley told the Washington Citizen.
