Briggs Throws 6-Hitter En Route to 5-1 Blaze Win
Spirited fans at Washington Park greeted the Washington Generals for their clash with the South Beach Blaze.

The South Beach Blaze defeated the Washington Generals, 5-1, in USPL Single A action at Washington Park, with South Beach pitcher Aaron Briggs named player of the game. South Beach is now 16-6, 2˝ games up in the Premier A.

Briggs was in the zone all game. He frustrated Washington hitters while giving the Blaze 9 innings of quality work. Briggs threw 119 pitches, allowing 6 hits and getting 9 punchouts.

Briggs told the South Beach Daily: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
