Generals Come Up Short at Phoenix
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Phoenix Hotspur U-21 got the win.
The Phoenix Hotspur U-21 turned back the Washington Generals, 4-3, at Hotspur Kiddie Complex. Félix Sosa was named player of the game for his fine performance. He was 4-4 with 4 singles. Phoenix reliever Juan Escobar got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Jeff Rollins was tagged with the loss. Earning his 4th save of the year was Neal Burns.
In the bottom of the first, George Robinson hit a 2-run home run for Phoenix. The 1st home run of the season for the Phoenix designated hitter put the Hotspur U-21 on top, 2-0.
"We've got a great group of guys," Robinson said, "and we're having fun right now."
Phoenix has a record of 9-6.
