Chukars Come Back Late, Nip Hotspur U-21
|
In a low-scoring clash between Idaho Falls and Phoenix, pitcher Albert Sierra was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for Idaho Falls in the 3-2 win. Ramón Granados earned the save, his 2nd, for the Chukars. The defending champion Chukars are off to a horrible start to the season, notching only their 2nd win in 7 games.
This game went down to the wire. In the top of the ninth, Luis León had a big at-bat. With no one out, the Idaho Falls third baseman hit a sacrifice fly, to put his team up, 3-2.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Phoenix skipper Juan Sánchez, "and it cost us."
