Hot Start Continues for Hotspur U-21
|
The Phoenix Hotspur U-21 took Gwinnett County pitcher Rizaldo Manansala's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Pipers Ballpark. The final score had Phoenix getting past the Black Cats, 2-1. Manansala went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 7. Phoenix reliever Cameron Roberts was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. David Ortega took the loss for Gwinnett County. Neal Burns picked up the save, his 2nd.
Bill Poole made it 2-1 in favor of Phoenix when he delivered a solo home run. It came with no one out in the top of the ninth. The Hotspur U-21 went on to win.
"It was a solid team effort," said Poole after the game.
The Hotspur U-21, now 5-1, have stormed out of the gates.
