Yellowknife played host to Washington at the friendly confines of The Dragon Den.
The Yellowknife Dragonblood picked up a win at The Dragon Den, knocking off the Washington Generals, 3-2. On the mound for Yellowknife was right-hander Forest Stanley, who played a pivotal role in the win. With the win, Yellowknife is 2-3.
Roxborough Park, Colorado-born Melvin Thomas came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd and the Dragonblood trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run triple to right-center to put Yellowknife on top.
"We'll savor this win," Stanley told the Yellowknife Chronicle, "then get ready for the next game."
