Late Rally by Blaze Secures Win
Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Gwinnett County Black Cats home opener. Rizaldo Manansala started for the home team against David Ndahura for the South Beach Blaze. The Black Cats were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 4-2, South Beach. David Ndahura was named player of the game. In 7.2 innings, Ndahura surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Arthur Clough closed the game out for South Beach, earning his 1st save.

Had Sepulveda Zambrano not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Zambrano hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Blaze.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Ndahura said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
