1787 BC Subdue Grim, 5-4
|
It was a fun time at Carrier Field, where the Grim Reapers and Delaware 1787 BC tangled.
The Grim Reapers got a superb performance from catcher Mun-wah Law. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Delaware. The 1787 BC won the game, 5-4. In spite of the loss, Law was named the player of the game. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Jay Mahabir picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-0. Emílio Rodríguez was tagged with the loss. Francisco López, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 16th save.
Mario Castillo went 2 for 3 with a triple. He drove in 3 runs for Delaware. The 20-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Emílio Rodríguez. It was his 44th RBI of the season.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Castillo told the Delaware Today.
Delaware currently is in third place in the Silver A at 43-34.
