Guzzlers Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Expos
|
The Guzzlers faced a stiff challenge from Niagara Falls pitcher Song Tsang, but persevered to claim a win at Waterfall Park. The final score was 6-2. Tsang went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Galesburg reliever Russ Rogers was credited with the win, to go to 2-2. Pat Clement took the loss for Niagara Falls. Galesburg, at 34-37, sits in 5th place in the Silver A.
Ramón Córdova made it 5-2 in favor of Galesburg when he delivered a 3-run home run. It came with one out in the top of the ninth. The Guzzlers went on to win.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Córdova.
