Bulls Topple Reapers with Late Rally

Mt. Vernon Bulls starter Jesús Franco pitched effectively against the Grim Reapers at The Coffin. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 4-2 win. Jeffery Prosser was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 15 save opportunities. Mt. Vernon is now riding a 6-game win streak.
Had Pablo Morales not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Morales hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Bulls.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Morales, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
