Guzzlers Jolt Bulls with Late Rally

The Galesburg Guzzlers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Gao Mar, who muffled the Mt. Vernon offense en route to a tight 3-1 Guzzlers win at Ballpark of Mt. Vernon. Galesburg reliever Miguel Padilla was the winner. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Jeffery Prosser. Steve Wortley picked up the save for Galesburg, his 8th of the year.
This game went down to the wire. In the top of the ninth, Toimi Vilkuna had a big at-bat. With no one out, the Galesburg pinch hitter hit a sacrifice fly, to put his team up, 2-1.
"Nothing fazes Gao," said Galesburg manager Rickey Burrell.
With the win, the Guzzlers have a record of 27-26.
