Expos Turn Back Hogsmeade, 3-2
|
The Niagara Falls Expos picked up a win at Waterfall Park, knocking off the Hogsmeade Cauldrons, 3-2. Starting pitcher Derek Patton, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Pat Clement was credited with the save for Niagara Falls, his 10th of the season. Niagara Falls has now won 3 in a row.
The Expos got a big at-bat from left fielder Francisco Valentín. For the game, Valentín was 1 for 3 with a walk. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 48th hit of the season gave Niagara Falls a 2-1 lead.
"It feels good to get this one," Valentín told the Niagara Falls News.
