Bulls Fall to Storm, 4-3
|
With catcher Mike Clifton leading the charge, the Syracuse Storm defeated the Mt. Vernon Bulls, 4-3, at Ballpark of Mt. Vernon. Clifton was 3 for 3 with 3 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs. Syracuse reliever Peter Glenn was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Willie Dustice took the loss. Nand Lal Chaudhary earned his 2nd save in 2 tries.
Syracuse first baseman Dave Maxwell contributed to the cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth. For the game, Maxwell went 1-4.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Mt. Vernon manager Jeff Walsh, "let me know."
Syracuse is now 23-25, while Mt. Vernon is 27-21.
