Rocky Mountain left-hander Rafael Rivera made an effective start against the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC at Great Northern Field, leading his team to a 4-3 win. Rocky Mountain reliever Rafael Rivera was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Bayram Tanaoglu took the loss for Thunder Bay. With the loss, Thunder Bay is 1-6.

Javier Sánchez made it 4-3 in favor of Rocky Mountain when he delivered a run-scoring double. It came with two out in the top of the 19th. The Nuggets went on to win.
