Expos Sneak Past U-21, 4-3
|
Athletic Club KC got a terrific performance from pitcher Tetsunori Ikarashi, but it wasn't enough to beat the Niagara Falls Expos. Niagara Falls won the ACKC Youth Field contest, 4-3. Ikarashi was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings allowing 1 run. Niagara Falls reliever Pat Clement picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Eduardo Sandoval absorbed the loss. The U-21, now 7-19, have lost 4 in a row.
Jesús Herrera made it 4-3 in favor of Niagara Falls when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with two out in the top of the ninth. The Expos went on to win.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Herrera said.
