Mayfield Helps Cattlemen Run Win Streak to 3
|
Rick Mayfield left his imprint on the 9-7 Ft. Worth win against the Philadelphia 1776 BC. Mayfield, who is rated as the 8th best prospect by BNN, was 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 5. Armando Romano earned the win for Ft. Worth. He lasted 5.2 innings, allowing 5 earned runs on 7 hits, while striking out 0. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. Asher Spivey finished to wrap up his 4th save.
Mayfield had a key at-bat for Ft. Worth early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and gave Ft. Worth an early 2-0 lead.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Ft. Worth manager Scott Thompson.
The Cattlemen, now 4-1, have played some good baseball in the early going.
