Northern Lions BC Need Extra Frames to Get Past Middies
|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC picked up a win at Field of the Middies, knocking off the Grafton Middies, 1-0. Starting pitcher Rodas Aguilar, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Getting the save was Dino Moonglampers, his 1st. The Northern Lions BC, with just their 1st win in 4 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
The most important at-bat for Thunder Bay came in the top of the tenth inning, when catcher Carlos Padilla stroked a 2-2 cutter to center for a run-scoring double, putting Thunder Bay up, 1-0.
"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Aguilar after the game.
