Guzzlers Hope Opening Day Win Bodes Well for Season
Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Syracuse Storm home opener. Joe Martarano started for the home team against Robby Oglethorpe for the Galesburg Guzzlers. The Storm were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 5-3, Galesburg. Derek Bouch was named player of the game. Galesburg starter Robby Oglethorpe was credited with the win after throwing 93 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Steve Wortley closed the game out for Galesburg, earning his 1st save.

Yu-shu Tseng was 1 for 3 for Galesburg. The 19-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Joe Martarano. It was his 1st RBI of the season.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Bouch said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
