Kerin hits 2 home runs, Rainbow Mermaids Move to 7-4
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids beat the D.C. Divided, 7-3, at Atlantica. The win was largely due to the efforts of left fielder Scott Kerin, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Raúl Gómez was the winning pitcher. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. The Rainbow Mermaids keep rolling, raising their record to 7-4.

Kerin came through with some timely hitting for Northern Virginia. With the score 3-3 in the bottom of the fifth and one down, Kerin hit a 2-0 fastball for a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season made it 5-3, Northern Virginia.
