The Mancelona Torch had to overcome a big game from Put-In-Bay designated hitter Wally Briggs to leave Torch Field with a 3-2 victory. Briggs was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times. Geoffroy Cadaloba was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 13 of 18 save opportunities. The 4th-place Torch have won 4 straight.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, left fielder Jorge Vélez came through big-time for the Torch. With Mancelona leading 2-1, he belted a solo home run.
