Divided Continue Skid Thanks to Mungus, Grey Wolves
|
With third baseman Hugh Mungus leading the charge, the Vancouver Grey Wolves defeated the D.C. Divided, 7-3, at Washington Stadium. Mungus, who is on pace to hit 23 home runs this season, went 4 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Vancouver starter John Dempsey was credited with the win after throwing 101 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 10-8. The Divided, now 53-55, have lost 4 in a row.
Early in the game, Mungus had a 2-run home run for Vancouver. It was his 23rd home run of the season and put the Grey Wolves on top, 2-0.
"Some of the guys in here work pretty hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Mungus told the Vancouver Daily.
