Highlanders Come Up Short at Lannister United
Fans who came to Lionheart Field watched the Lannister United Lionhearts and the Asheville Highlanders fight to the finish.

Asheville left fielder Mario Jacome had a good game, even if his team did not. The Highlanders dropped a 7-6 decision to Lannister United at Lionheart Field. Jacome went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Lannister United reliever Fernando Elías picked up the win, bumping his record to 7-5. Ricky O'Toole was collared with the loss.

Had José García not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, García hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Lionhearts.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Asheville manager Richard Weaver. "The effort was great."

Lannister United is now 50-51.
