The Asheville Highlanders defeated the Chesapeake Continentals, 4-2, in USPL Double A action at Asheville Park, with Asheville pitcher Julián Menchaca named player of the game. The 5th-place Continentals have lost 4 straight games.

Asheville took a 3-2 lead on Víctor Hernández's 14th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Hernández hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Chesapeake pitcher Fabian Thul visibly frustrated.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Hernández told the Asheville Daily News.
