Highlanders Jolt Screaming Eagles with Late Rally

Despite a great performance by Mercer Island third baseman Gabriel Rodríguez, the Asheville Highlanders defeated the Screaming Eagles by the score of 3-2 at Mercer Island Grounds. Rodríguez went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Asheville has now won 3 straight, while the Screaming Eagles have lost 3 in a row.
This game went down to the wire. In the top of the ninth, Juan Carlos Santos had a big at-bat. With one out, the Asheville designated hitter drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to put his team up, 3-2.
