The Myrtle Beach Mermen bested the Minnesota Loons by a score of 4-3, with center fielder Shigenobu Ohayashi getting the main credit. On the day, Ohayashi went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Mermen. Myrtle Beach reliever Júlio Maes got the win, raising his record to 4-2. Horatio McAllister was tagged with the loss. Myrtle Beach now owns a record of 43-46.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Myrtle Beach catcher Cody Blackburn, facing Horatio McAllister, had a run-scoring double. It gave the Mermen the 4-3 win.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Ohayashi said.
