The Chicago Gold Sox picked up a win at Gold Sox Field, knocking off the Richardson City Thundercats, 5-4. Starting pitcher Risto Hannila was an essential part of his team's success. Chicago reliever Dan Crowder got the win, raising his record to 5-3. Stanford McCain was tagged with the loss. The 9th-place Thundercats have lost 4 consecutive games.

The Gold Sox were down to their final out when right fielder Stanley Belote turned a full count fastball from Stanford McCain into a 2-run double. The walk-off double made the Gold Sox Field crowd go wild.

"This wasn't a good win," said Belote. "It was a great win."
