Eclipse Topple Rails with Late Rally
|
Northville and Richland got after it at Old-Timers Park.
Northville Eclipse starter Ricardo Fraga kept the Richland Rails hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 11-2 win. In 8.2 innings, Fraga surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 4. He allowed 2 runs.
The Eclipse got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Jorge Borbón. For the game, Borbón went 1 for 1 with a walk. In the bottom of the eighth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 59th hit of the season gave Northville a 3-2 lead.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Northville manager Juan Padilla.
Northville has now won 3 in a row.
