Lionhearts Turn Back Northville, 2-1
|
Pitcher Pedro Tavárez was sensational for the Lannister United Lionhearts in his team's 2-1 triumph over the Northville Eclipse. Tavárez received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Harry Mander, credited with the save, is now 2 for 5 in save opportunities. Lannister United, at 36-39, sits in 7th place in the Premier AA.
The Lionhearts got a big at-bat from right fielder Cristo Cuervo. For the game, Cuervo went 1 for 3 with a home run. In the top of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Lannister United a 1-0 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Tavárez told the Lannister United Daily.
