Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Continentals
|
Behind a solid performance from center fielder Rand McNally, the Chesapeake Continentals defeated the Minnesota Loons, 6-2. McNally went 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Continentals. Mat Tengku picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-3. Horatio McAllister was tagged with the loss. Chesapeake is now 36-37.
McNally had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a first pitch fastball from Horatio McAllister, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Continentals a 6-2 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for McNally.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said McNally.
