Eclipse Lose, 4-1, at Tennille Grounds
|
It was a fun time at Tennille Grounds, where the Northville Eclipse and Myrtle Beach Mermen tangled.
Myrtle Beach rode a fine outing from starter Kelemeneke Balun to victory over the Northville Eclipse at Tennille Grounds. The final score was 4-1. The winning pitcher was Balun, now 5-3. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5.
The Mermen got a big at-bat from left fielder Maik Palen. For the game, Palen went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 85th hit of the season gave Myrtle Beach a 2-1 lead.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Palen.
Myrtle Beach occupies 9th place in the Premier AA at 29-39.
