The Asheville Highlanders downed the Tacoma Fur Traders, 8-4, at Ballpark of Tacoma. Víctor Hernández led the way, going 2-for-5 for Asheville. Asheville is now 27-40, while Tacoma is 31-36.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Hernández delivered big-time for Asheville, stroking a dramatic bases-clearing double off Daniel Ryan. The game-changing hit put the Highlanders on top, 7-4.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling pretty confident after that win," said Hernández.
