Richland turned a good effort from starter Chico Landi into a win over the Minnesota Loons at Loony Bin. The final score was 5-1. Landi went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 6-1. The Loons, now 34-33, have lost 6 in a row.
The Rails got a big at-bat from third baseman Leon Carlisle. For the game, Carlisle went 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the top of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 7th double of the season gave Richland a 3-0 lead.
"It feels good to get this one," Carlisle told the Richland Today.
