Youth Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Eclipse
|
Phoenix Hotspur Youth starter José Santiago was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Northville Eclipse, 6-2. In 8 innings, Santiago surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. The win puts the Youth at 30-29, while the Eclipse drop to 37-22.
Had Carl Tucker not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Tucker hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Youth.
Santiago told a Phoenix Hotspur Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
