Continentals Need Extra Frames to Get Past Lionhearts
|
The Continentals faced a stiff challenge from Lannister United pitcher Earl Farley, but persevered to claim a win at Lionheart Field. The final score was 8-2. Farley went 8.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Chesapeake is now 26-23, Lannister United 22-27.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the tenth inning. With no one out, Arturo Scantlebury hit a 1-1 fastball from Tadeo Pico for a 2-run single. It put Chesapeake in front, 4-2.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Scantlebury. "I like it."
